Santo Domingo de Los Tsachilas Day Trip

Pickup from your hotel in Quito occurs between 5:15 and 6 am. The journey to the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas will feature views of the green vegetation of the Choco Andino Reserve and the high mountains of the Los Ilinizas Ecological Reserve.

After a drive of approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, a short walk through a forest will lead you to up to 3 waterfalls, with an opportunity for a swim.

You will then visit the Chigüilpe commune for a 1 hour guided tour to learn about the culture and beliefs of the Tsáchilas. This includes visiting their homes, attending a spear demonstration, sampling typical products, and observing cotton processing.

Free time will be provided for lunch and further exploration of the community. The last stop will be the San Gabriel Del Baba boardwalk, offering views of the river and lush vegetation.

The tour will conclude with a return to your hotel at approximately 8 pm.

The tour includes pick-up from hotels in the Quito Metropolitan District. A supplement of 10 USD per person is required for pickups in the northern area, from San Antonio to Cotocollao, or Tumbaco valley, payable on the day of the tour.
