Santo Domingo de Los Tsachilas Day Trip

Pickup at your hotel in Quito occurs between 5:15 and 6 am, initiating our journey to Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. During the 3 hour 30 minute drive, you will see the green vegetation of the Choco Andino Reserve and the high mountains surrounding the Los Ilinizas Ecological Reserve.

Following the drive, we will embark on a short walk through a forest where we may encounter up to 3 waterfalls, providing an opportunity for a dip.

Next, we visit the Chigüilpe commune, where a 1 hour guided tour will introduce you to the Tsáchilas culture and beliefs. Participants will view their houses, experience a spear demonstration, sample typical products, and see the cotton processing.

After the tour, you will have free time to eat and explore the community. The final stop will be at the San Gabriel Del Baba boardwalk for captivating views of the river and lush vegetation.

The tour concludes with a return to your hotel around 8 pm.
