Hiking to Arco del Coronadero
Our journey begins at 9:15 am at Avenida de la Unión Europea in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, where we'll commence a 7 km trekking path. This route will lead us through the picturesque ravines of southern Gran Canaria, with the natural wonder of the Arco del Coronadero as our destination.
As we traverse the trails of the Amurga Massif, you'll have the chance to appreciate the unique cacti that dot the landscape while catching sight of remnants of pre-Hispanic settlements. Throughout our hike, we will delve into the history of the island's original inhabitants by exploring ancient caves and ceremonial sites.
We will navigate through arid terrains and walk along the dramatic cliffs of the Barranco Hondo, also known as the Deep Ravine. Upon arrival, the breathtaking Arco del Coronadero—an exceptional natural rock formation—awaits our exploration. We'll uncover the story behind its formation millions of years ago and capture countless photographs to commemorate the moment!
After fully enjoying our time at the magnificent arch, we will begin our return journey, concluding the hike at approximately 2 pm, back at our original meeting point in San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
