Blue Crater Day Trip

Enjoy spending a day in nature by joining us on this day trip to the Blue Crater. You'll sail along the Pasión River and the Arroyo Pucté, and visit a unique environment in Guatemala.

Day Trip Details

After picking you up at your hotel, we'll start a 1-hour and 45-minute journey toward Sayaxche, stopping en route to grab a picnic-style lunch. Upon arrival, we will head to the shores of the Pasión River, where we'll board a speedboat for a ride lasting 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

The journey will feature the sounds of water and the songs of birds like herons, kingfishers, and green parrots. We will also sail along the Arroyo Pucté, which is adorned with vines and aerial roots.

We'll reach the Blue Crater, a hidden paradise in the Maya Biosphere Reserve. You will have 3 hours of free time to eat, swim in the clear waters, and use the provided snorkeling equipment to explore the seabed. The Blue Crater has a depth of 16 to 22 ft (5-7 m), comprising an underwater garden among calcareous formations.

After connecting with nature, we'll return to Sayaxche by speedboat, then take the bus back. The entire experience lasts approximately 8.5 hours before we drop you off at your hotel.
