On this boat trip and tour of El Ceibal from Flores, participants will sail the La Pasión River and explore a significant Mayan archaeological complex in Guatemala.

Day Trip to El Ceibal

The tour starts with a pickup in Flores at your hotel or the airport at 8 am, followed by travel to Sayaxché, where a boat will be ready for departure.

Passengers will board the boat and travel along the La Pasión River to the Mayan archaeological complex of El Ceibal, which dates back to 400 B.C..

Upon arrival, participants will disembark and walk alongside the river to the archaeological site. The tour includes visiting sectors A, C, and D, the circular pyramid, the zoomorphic altar, and the ball game field.

Notable features include various Causeways that connect the architectural complexes and insights into the building techniques used by the Mayans. There will also be opportunities to view El Ceibal's collection of stelae, which are stone shafts carved with glyph figures.

After the tour, the return trip will begin via boat to Sayaxché, followed by a bus ride back to Flores, with arrival at the hotel expected around 3:30 pm.
