Lose yourself in the vastness of the jungle and explore Guatemala's most important Mayan remains on this 5-day hike through El Mirador and El Tintal.

Tour Details

Day 1: Flores - El Tintal

Pickup from your hotel in Flores to the community of Carmelita, a 4-hour journey. Meet the guides and head to the Florica and Uacute campsites for lunch. Afterward, continue on the Zacbé road to El Tintal, where we will tour a Maya archaeological site with over 2,000 buildings, including three pyramids. End the day with dinner and overnight camping.

Day 2: El Tintal - El Mirador

After breakfast, embark on a 23.5 km (14.6 mi) hike. Stop at the El Zompopero picnic area for lunch before visiting La Muerta archaeological site. Continue to the El Mirador archaeological site, relax at camp, and enjoy dinner.

Day 3: El Mirador

Start the day with a climb to the El Tigre Pyramid for sunrise views. Return for breakfast and proceed to explore key areas of El Mirador, including ball game fields and astronomical observation points. Visit the frieze of the Hero Twins and the La Danta Pyramid, concluding the day with dinner and overnight camping.

Day 4: El Mirador - El Tintal

Post-breakfast, depart El Mirador for El Tintal on a 23.5 km (14.6 mi) trek, stopping at the Zompopero area for lunch. Arrive at El Tintal in the afternoon for rest and dinner.

Day 5: El Tintal - Flores

After breakfast, trek 17.5 km (10.8 mi) to Carmelita, farewell to the guides, and have lunch. Return to Flores via vehicle, arriving at your hotel around 4 PM.

Accommodation and Meals

This tour includes 4 nights' full board accommodation at campsites at El Tintal and El Mirador, featuring tents for two people and shared bathroom facilities. Meals consist of pasta dishes, meat, chicken, rice, sandwiches, and fruit.
