Description
Meet us at the Tourist Information Office located in Civic Center Square to start our mountain adventure from Bariloche.
Our adventure begins with a stroll through Bariloche's German Quarter. We will proceed into the Patagonian Forest, embarking on an uphill hike along the slopes of Cerro Otto. As we ascend, we will appreciate views of the surrounding mountains and lakes.
During the hike, stories will be shared about the routes taken by Otto Meiling, who played a significant role in this region. After approximately two hours of climbing over a distance of about 5 kilometers (3.1 miles), we'll reach the Berghof refuge, originally his residence and later the first ski center in South America.
We will visit the Casa del Montañés Museum at the Berghof Lodge, learning about Otto Meiling's history and his significance to Bariloche. After the museum visit, there will be free time to explore the refuge and enjoy lunch at local restaurants.
Following 4 hours of exploration, our tour will conclude at the refuge. Assistance will be provided for arranging private transportation back to Bariloche if preferred.
