Discover the natural beauty of Patagonia with this trip to Tronador (Thundering) Volcano, known for the sound of ice breaks in glaciers.
Description
The tour departs from Bariloche, traveling south alongside the Gutierrez and Mascardi lakes, showcasing the landscapes of La Pampa with lakes, rivers, and Andes peaks.
We continue along the eastern coast of Mascardi Lake until reaching a road diversion that leads into the Andes. This includes crossing a bridge over the Manso River and following the rapids and eastern branch of Mascardi Lake. A stop at the Piuke island viewpoint offers views of its heart-shaped form.
The journey proceeds through the Los Vuriloches Valley to Pampa Linda, a mountain refuge where you can take personal time for lunch. Afterward, we head to the foot of the Tronador Volcano, with views of either the Ventisquero Negro glacier or Lago Manso. Witness the ice floes cascading from the volcano, a memorable experience.
After enjoying the nearby waterfalls, we return to Bariloche, concluding a 9-hour tour.
