Discover the Chicamocha River on a thrilling 15-kilometre (9-mile) rafting descent over family-friendly rapids and venture into a dry forest.
Description
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at Cra. 10 in San Gil to head to the Chicamocha River. After around 1.5 hours of travel through the Santander region, we'll reach our destination, a key river in central Colombia.
Upon arrival, we'll receive a brief introduction from our instructor, and don our safety gear before boarding the boats. We'll paddle through the waters, enjoying unique views of the Chicamocha Canyon, nominated in 2012 as one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World.
The rafting will last for 2 to 3 hours, navigating continuous rapids along the 15-kilometre (9-mile) stretch of the Chicamocha River.
During our adventure, we'll enter the regional coffee forest and appreciate the lush plantations along the riverbanks. As we delve deeper into the canyon, we'll discover an old colonial village and have the chance to dip in the refreshing waters of the Chicamocha.
After the activity, we'll refuel with a traditional lunch, concluding the day after a total of 6-7 hours of activity.
