Immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of Costa Rica on this full-day tour: learn all about coffee at Hacienda Doka, explore picturesque Grecia and admire the handmade oxcarts in Sarchí.

Doka Coffee Plantation, Grecia & Sarchí Tour

We'll pick you up from your hotel in the morning and head to Hacienda Doka, one of the largest coffee plantations in Costa Rica. The "golden beans" grown here are considered some of the best in the country, and we'll learn about the coffee production process as we reach the plantation at 1,350 meters (4,429 feet) above sea level.

After the guided tour of the Doka plantation, lunch will consist of Costa Rican specialties, including salad, rice and beans, meat, dessert, and a drink. Then, we will visit Grecia, located in the foothills of the Cordillera Central, known for its coffee and sugarcane plantations as well as beautiful textiles.

In Grecia, we will see the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, a unique 19th-century structure made entirely of steel plates painted red, showcasing European Neo-Gothic architecture. We will also visit the Central Market for insight into local life.

Next, we will head to Sarchí, recognized as the birthplace of Costa Rican crafts. The town is famous for its handcrafted oxcarts, decorated with colorful designs. You will see the biggest oxcart in the world, a national symbol!

At the end of the day, we will return to your hotel in San Jose, approximately 8 hours later.
