Irazu Volcano, Orosi Valley, & Lankester Garden Tour

Pickup from your hotel in San José leads to the province of Cartago and the Irazu Volcano. The journey features views of fertile landscapes and local flora and fauna.

The Irazu Volcano stands at 3,432 meters high (11,259 feet), making it the most active volcano in Costa Rica. Visitors will explore one of its craters and observe a green lake, alongside panoramic views of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Next, we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels in Cartago followed by the Lankester Gardens, home to over 800 species of orchids and plants. A traditional Costa Rican meal will be provided, including rice, beans, salad, and a choice of meat (chicken, fish, or pork), dessert, and a drink.

The tour continues to the Orosi and Ujarrás Valley, noted for its mountainous backdrop and historical significance, including events from the colonial era. This region is recognized for the Franciscan Order and its influence on local evangelization and early Catholic churches.

After 11.5 hours, we will return you to your hotels in San José.
