Poas Volcano National Park Day Trip

Pickup from your hotel in San José is at 6:30 am, after which we will travel along the Pan-American Highway to Poas Volcano National Park.

Prior to entering the park, we will pass through Alajuela, enjoying a panoramic route that includes the Monument to Agriculture, the Monument to San Juan Santamaría, and Mango Park.

A delicious breakfast will be provided, featuring gallo pinto with egg, cheese, ripe plantain, yucca chorriada, tortilla aliñada, and gallos with meat, cheese, and picadillo.

We will then explore one of Costa Rica’s most notable natural areas, walking through coffee plantations and farms adorned with ferns, flowers, and strawberries before heading to the volcano’s crater.

As we ascend, you'll notice a change in temperature, and upon reaching the viewpoint, you will observe the impressive mile-wide crater.

The trip concludes with a return to the minibus for hotel drop-off in San José at approximately 1 pm.
