Tortuguero National Park Trip
After hotel pickup, we will set off with a natural scientist guide to Braulio Carrillo National Park, featuring a vast forest and waterfalls. At over 3,000 metres high, the Barva Volcano will be a highlight. We will observe some of the over 135 animal species within Braulio Carrillo National Park.
A typical Costa Rican breakfast will be provided, including eggs and gallo pinto (a beans and rice dish), juice, and coffee.
Next, we will visit the banana plantations to learn about the growth and exportation of key Costa Rican products like chocolate and coffee.
Afterward, we will board a boat to explore Tortuguero National Park, known for its rich biological diversity. The park is home to the green turtle, as well as the manatee, the sea cow, and the crocodile. It also supports endangered species like sloths, monkeys, and white-nosed coatis.
Lunchtime will feature a buffet-style menu with salads, meat, garnishes, dessert, coffee, and drinks.
Post-lunch, we will visit the village of Tortuguero, a street accessible only by cycling or walking, featuring local bars and restaurants. Finally, we will return to your hotel in San José.
