Excursion to Tortuguero National Park

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your accommodations, followed by a journey alongside an expert naturalist guide to Braulio Carrillo National Park, an expansive area characterized by its stunning forests and impressive waterfalls visible from a distance.

Rising over 3,000 meters, the Barva Volcano promises breathtaking views. Throughout the excursion, we’ll encounter some of the over 135 species of animals that inhabit Braulio Carrillo National Park.

A typical Costa Rican breakfast will be our next stop to replenish our energy, featuring eggs and the renowned gallo pinto, a delicious blend of beans and rice, complemented by juice and coffee.

Continuing our journey, we will explore the banana plantations, where you will gain insights into the cultivation and exportation of this vital product, alongside chocolate and coffee.

We will then embark on a boat ride that will take us into the heart of Tortuguero National Park, celebrated for its abundant biological diversity.

The park is renowned for the green turtle, but it is also home to a diverse range of fascinating species, including the manatee, sea cows, and crocodiles. Endangered mammals such as sloths, monkeys, and white-nosed coatis can also be found here.

At midday, we will savor a traditional meal with a selection of 8 dishes, accompanied by a refreshing fruit juice.

Following lunch, we will stroll through the village of Tortuguero, which consists of a charming street where cycling and walking are the only modes of transport. Here, we'll also visit popular bars and restaurants cherished by the local community.

Your trip will conclude with the return journey to your hotel in San José.
