Tortuguero National Park Trip
After hotel pickup, we will begin the tour with a natural scientist guide to Braulio Carrillo National Park, featuring a magnificent forest and waterfalls. The tour highlights the Barva Volcano at over 3,000 metres high, and we will observe some of the over 135 animal species present in the park.
A typical Costa Rican breakfast will be served, including eggs, the famous gallo pinto made of beans and rice, juice, and coffee.
Next, we will explore banana plantations to learn about the growth and exportation process of key Costa Rican products, alongside chocolate and coffee.
We will then board a boat to sail to the Tortuguero National Park, recognized for its rich biological diversity. The park is home to the green turtle, manatees, crocodiles, and endangered species such as sloths, monkeys, and white-nosed coati.
Lunch will consist of a buffet-style menu with salads, meat, sides, dessert, coffee, and drinks.
After lunch, we will visit the village of Tortuguero, where only cycling and walking are permitted. We will see popular bars and restaurants among residents. The tour concludes with a return to your hotel in San José.
