El Yunque National Rainforest Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Juan and set off for the eastern zone of the Island. For 40 minutes, we'll delve into the scenery until we reach El Yunque National Rainforest.
Once there, we'll pass a large mudslide caused by hurricane Maria in 2017, and afterwards, we'll continue climbing to the highest peak in the rainforest. At 3510 feet (1070 metres) high, the Toro Peak will provide you with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.
For 25 minutes, we'll walk along rainforest paths where you might spot a red-tailed hawk, a native species. As we continue, you will learn about the unusual flora and fauna in this environment.
Making your way through the lush vegetation is worthwhile, as at the end of the route are the waterfalls and natural pools of El Yunque. Here, you can take a refreshing dip, and the daring may even jump from the waterfall.
Next, we'll head to a local restaurant for a typical lunch and some relaxation time on the beach.
Finally, we'll end the tour by taking you back to your hotel, arriving 4 to 5 hours later.
