El Yunque National Rainforest Day Trip
At the indicated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in San Juan and set off for the eastern zone of the Island. The journey lasts approximately 40 minutes until we reach El Yunque National Rainforest.
Upon arrival, we will observe a large mudslide caused by hurricane Maria in 2017 and continue our ascent to the rainforest's highest peak. At a height of 3510 feet (1070 metres), Toro Peak offers views of the Caribbean Sea.
We will walk for 25 minutes along rainforest paths, with the possibility of spotting a red-tailed hawk, a native species. As we proceed, you will learn about the unique flora and fauna of the area.
Reaching the end of our route rewards us with the waterfalls and natural pools of El Yunque. You can take a refreshing dip, and adventurous participants can jump from the waterfall.
Afterward, we will head to a local restaurant for a typical lunch and some relaxation time on the beach.
The tour concludes with the return to your hotel, arriving 4 to 5 hours after departure.
