In the surroundings of San Juan, there is a large group of beautiful ravines and dams, among which Caracoles, Punta Negra and Ullum stand out. Join us as we take a fantastic trip to discover them!
San Juan Gorges and Dams Tour
After picking you up from your hotel in San Juan at 2 pm, we will head to the Zonda ravine, a narrow land gully flanked by the Marquesado and Chica de Zonda mountain ranges.
The tour continues to the Punta Negra dam viewpoint, a significant hydroelectric dam inaugurated in 2015 by then president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, which provides water to hundreds of thousands of people. Its colossal size is striking.
Next, we will visit the Los Caracoles dam, which has a full capacity of 565 cubic hectometres of water, equivalent to 56,500,000,000 litres.
Before returning to San Juan, we will stop at the Ullum Dam observation point, located on the edge of the Ullum ravine. You will learn about the technical aspects of the hydroelectric plant with a capacity of 41 megawatts while enjoying the landscapes.
We will conclude the tour by returning to your hotel in San Juan, arriving around 6 pm.
