Hiking in San Lorenzo
When making your booking, you'll be able to opt for a 3 or 7-hour route. In both cases, we'll meet up at your chosen time on Calle Juan Carlos Dávalos.
3-Hour Route
We will begin by exploring the colonial town of San Lorenzo and head to its outskirts, where we will find the ravine of the same name. We'll continue along the trails adjacent to the San Lorenzo River, ascending slopes to reach various viewpoints offering panoramic views of Salta, located only a few miles away.
During the tour, we'll explore the unique yungas of San Lorenzo and observe endemic species such as cockspur coral trees, walnut trees, myrtles, and alders.
At the highest point of our route, at 5,900 feet (1,800 metres) above sea level, we will enjoy views of the Lerma Valley to the south and the Andean foothills to the north and west. We'll then return to our starting point after 3 hours of walking.
Schedule: every day at 10 am and 3 pm.
7-Hour Route
This option is a high-difficulty route covering 12 miles (19 kilometres) and reaching an altitude of 7,870 feet (2,400 metres) above sea level.
The route begins with an ascent through the trails of the San Lorenzo ravine to the Eastern Cordillera. Along the way, we will see trees typical of the Selva Montana, including cockspur coral trees, walnut trees, laurels, and cedars. Additionally, we will observe lush ferns and diverse epiphytes, as well as stunning views of the Lerma Valley and the Eastern Cordillera.
Schedule: every day at 10 am.
