Following the Mexican Revolution, the village of Armadillo fell into desolation, giving rise to its reputation as a ghost town. Join us on a remarkable hiking expedition to uncover the secrets of this eerie location, with a convenient transfer from San Luis Potosi.

Hiking Tour of the Ghost Town of Armadillo

Your journey begins with a pickup at 8:30 am from your accommodation in San Luis Potosi. We will travel to Armadillo de los Infante, a name that pays homage to the Infante family, pioneers of the first printing press in the area.

In the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, this municipality thrived, enjoying a prosperous era. However, as the Mexican Revolution swept through in the early 20th century, Armadillo transformed into a ghost town. Are you ready to explore its remnants?

This adventure includes a 9.7-kilometre (6 miles) hiking path, where you will encounter the remnants of abandoned structures and historical monuments in Armadillo. This easy hike will take you through elevations ranging from 134 to 148 metres (436 to 485 feet), inviting you to discover the town's lost history.

Upon completing the hike, we will visit 1600 Restaurante, where you can indulge in delectable dishes from Potosí’s culinary heritage, showcasing a delightful blend of pre-Columbian and colonial flavors.

Following your meal, we will return to your hotel in San Luis Potosi, arriving by approximately 5:30 pm.
