On this walking route along the Sendero del Capitán, we will explore the history of San Luis Potosí, visiting key sites such as the Cerro de San Pedro, the city's founding location.

Sendero del Capitán Hiking Tour

At 6:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in San Luis Potosí and travel to the starting point of the 'Sendero del Capitán'. The tour begins on foot from the Cerro de San Pedro, a site formerly known for its prolific gold and silver mining. The hike offers diverse landscapes, including meadows, forests, and the semi-desert regions of Potosí.

The trail leads us through Monte Caldera to Armadillo de los Infante, notable for housing the first printing press in San Luis Potosí. Participants will walk the cobblestone streets lined with 17th-century structures.

During the tour, we will discuss the life of Captain Miguel Caldera, a key figure in the region's pacification and colonization. We will also enter a cave to observe an underground world.

After covering 19 kilometres (11 miles), we will reach a ranch for a barbecue-style meal. After dining, we will return to your hotel in San Luis Potosí, concluding the activity at 6:30 pm.
