After picking you up from your hotel in San Luis at 7:30 am, we'll set off across the Pancanta Valley to La Carolina. This mining town is named after the Spanish King Charles III.

Upon arrival, we will discuss the town's history related to the "gold fever", a term for the gold discovery efforts in the 18th century, during which Spanish transported gold to Chile for the Santiago Mint.

We will visit the La Carolina gold mine, where you'll be provided mining gear before exploring the tunnels to learn about historical gold extraction methods.

After the guided tour of the mine, we'll head to the outskirts of La Carolina to visit the Inti Huasi cave, a significant prehistoric site. Here, we will review the lifestyle of the hominids that once inhabited these caves.

Subsequently, you'll have an hour of free time to have lunch in La Carolina before returning to your hotel in San Luis, with an estimated arrival at around 2:30 pm.
