- 1 Bewertung
On this hike from San Martín de los Andes, we'll ascend the Colorado Volcano and enjoy views of the Patagonian lakes.
Description
At the indicated time we'll pick you up at your hotel in San Martín de los Andes, after which we'll drive to the Colorado Volcano, located 30 minutes away.
Upon arrival at the base of the crater, we'll begin a medium-difficulty hiking route lasting a total of 5 hours, covering an 8.5-kilometre (5.2-mile) trail with an 800-metre (2625-foot) vertical climb.
We'll cross a Patagonian forest then proceed to a rocky area, continuing towards the summit of the Colorado Volcano at an altitude of 1742 metres (5700 feet). The reddish color comes from an ancient lava flow, remnants of which will be visible during the ascent.
From the top of the Colorado Volcano, we'll enjoy views of the south face of the Lanín volcano and the valleys of the Lácar and Lolog lakes. You will have time to eat food you brought along while taking in the panoramic views.
Finally, we'll walk back to the beginning of the trail, where the vehicle will be waiting to return us to San Martín de los Andes, with arrival at your hotel scheduled for 6 hours after pickup.
