- 1 Bewertung
On this hike from San Martín de los Andes, we'll ascend the Colorado Volcano and enjoy views of the Patagonian lakes.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in San Martín de los Andes and drive to the Colorado Volcano, which is 30 minutes away.
Once we arrive at the foot of the crater, we'll begin a medium-difficulty hiking route lasting a total of 5 hours, following an 8.5-kilometre (5.2-mile) trail with an 800-metre (2625-foot) vertical climb.
We'll traverse a Patagonian forest to a rocky area and continue trekking to the summit of the Colorado Volcano, which has an altitude of 1742 metres (5700 feet). The reddish color of the mountain comes from ancient lava flows, which we will see during the ascent.
From the top of the Colorado Volcano, we will enjoy views of the south face of the Lanín volcano and the valleys of the Lácar and Lolog lakes. You can take some time to eat the food you have brought with you while enjoying the panoramic views.
Finally, we'll walk back to the beginning of the trail, where the vehicle will be waiting to take us back to San Martín de los Andes. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled for 6 hours after pickup.
