- 1 Bewertung
On this hike from San Martín de los Andes, we'll ascend the Colorado Volcano and enjoy views of the Patagonian lakes.
Description
At the indicated time we'll pick you up at your hotel in San Martín de los Andes, from which point we'll drive to the Colorado Volcano, 30 minutes away.
Once we arrive at the foot of this crater, we'll begin a medium-difficulty hiking route lasting a total of 5 hours, following an 8.5-kilometre (5.2-mile) trail with an 800-metre (2625-foot) vertical climb.
We'll cross a Patagonian forest to a rocky area, continuing the trek to the summit of the Colorado Volcano, at an altitude of 1742 metres (5700 feet). The mountain's reddish color comes from an ancient lava flow, remnants of which we'll observe during the ascent.
From the top of the Colorado Volcano, we'll enjoy views of the south face of the Lanín volcano and the valleys of the Lácar and Lolog lakes. You can take time to eat some food you have brought with you while enjoying the panoramic views.
Finally, we'll walk back to the beginning of the trail, where the vehicle will be waiting to take us back to San Martín de los Andes. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled for 6 hours after pickup.
