Join us to explore two of the breathtaking natural wonders of Neuquén province: the Huechulafquen Lake and Lanín Volcano.
Day Trip to Huechulafquen Lake & Lanín Volcano
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in downtown San Martin de los Andes and set off for Huechulafquen Lake and Lanin Volcano in Lanin National Park.
Our first stop will be at the mouth of the Chimehuín River, a fishing spot and the source of Huechulafquen Lake. This natural site is part of an important lake system, including Paimún and Epulafquen lakes. Legend holds a hidden city behind this lake.
Next, we'll visit the town of Junín de los Andes to explore the Nuestra Señora de las Nieves church and Mapuche cultural center. Following this, we will journey through Lanin National Park to Lake Huechulafquen, the largest lake in the area.
You will have free time for lunch independently, and after refueling, we'll head to Lake Huechulafquen for impressive views of the volcan.
Additionally, we will visit Lake Paimún, surrounded by mountains, whose name means "run quietly" in the local language.
On our way back, we will stop at Mapuche communities to learn about their lifestyle and dwellings.
We will return to San Martin de los Andes around 6 pm and drop you off at your hotel.
