Join us to explore two of the breathtaking natural wonders of Neuquén province on this excursion: the Huechulafquen Lake and Lanín Volcano!

Day Trip to Huechulafquen Lake & Lanín Volcano

At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in downtown San Martin de los Andes and set off to explore Huechulafquen Lake and Lanin Volcano in Lanin National Park.

Our first stop will be at the mouth of the Chimehuín River, a fishing spot and the source of Huechulafquen Lake. This natural site, along with Paimún and Epulafquen lakes, creates an important lake system. There is a legend of a hidden city behind this lake.

Next, we'll visit the town of Junín de los Andes to explore the Nuestra Señora de las Nieves church and Mapuche cultural center. We will travel through Lanin National Park until we reach Lake Huechulafquen, the largest lake in the area.

You will have free time for lunch, and afterwards, we will head to Lake Huechulafquen. Upon arrival, enjoy views of the volcano while taking in the surroundings.

We'll also visit Lake Paimún, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, and its name means "run quietly" in the local language.

On our return, we will stop at the Mapuche communities to learn about their lifestyle. We will arrive back in San Martin de los Andes around 6 pm, dropping you off at your hotel.
