If you're looking to enjoy Andean nature, don't miss this hike around the Rosales lagoons, where we'll enjoy the captivating Patagonian landscape and discover its wide-ranging biodiversity of fauna and flora.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in San Martín de los Andes to travel to the Rosales lagoon, located 30 minutes away. Upon arrival, we will begin a relaxing hike around the Rosales lagoons. The walk has a low level of difficulty and covers around 3km (1.86 miles) through a lush Patagonian forest.
While hiking along the banks of the Rosales lagoons, we'll observe various bird species, including chucaos, huet-huets, rayaditos, and red hawks. We may also see the southern lapwing, ashy-headed goose, royal ashy-headed goose, Patagonian finch, and great gebe.
We will continue the hike around a mallín, a typical marshy grassland in Patagonia, to learn about the plant species inhabiting this ecosystem. Finally, we will walk back to the start of the trail and return to our vehicle for the trip back to San Martín de los Andes, expected to take approximately 4 hours in total.
