Tour Overview

At the designated meeting point on Calle Relox, the group will depart for the Sanctuary of Atonilco. The journey will take around 20 minutes, leading you to this breathtaking World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival, you will be captivated by the temple's stunning architecture while delving into its rich history. Journey back to the 18th century as you uncover its connections to the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and the events of Mexican Independence.

During your time at the sanctuary, you will also be able to admire the exquisite frescos that exemplify the vibrant Mexican baroque style. This temple is affectionately known as the American Sistine Chapel, a nickname that reflects its grandeur.

After the guided exploration, lasting approximately 45 minutes, you will have the chance to wander through the heart of the Atotonilco village, where you can enjoy some free time to savor the local culinary delights.

With refreshed spirits, we will return to our starting point, concluding the tour approximately two hours after our departure.
