Atotonilco Sanctuary + Vineyard Tour

Do you want to discover the American Sistene Chapel? Join this trip to the Sanctuary of Atonilco, where you'll also visit a vineyard and take part in a wine tasting. History, architecture and food mingle in perfect harmony.

Highlights

At the scheduled time, the group will convene on Calle Relox, and be brought up by minibus to the Sanctuary of Atonilco. It will take approximately 20 minutes to reach the World Heritage Site.

Once arrived, you'll be introduced to the temple's beauty and history, focusing on its 18th-century origins and connections to the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and Mexican Independence.

You will see the shrine's interior, including the frescos in the popular Mexican baroque style. This temple is known as the American Sistine Chapel.

After the guided tour, you will head to the center of Atotonilco town for Mexican gorditas or quesadillas, and a drink.

Renewed, you'll then travel by minibus to a vineyard to explore the wine production secrets of Guanajuato. The visit includes a wine tasting with 3 distinct varieties.

After the 4-hour trip, you'll be returned to your starting point.
