Tour Details

At the scheduled time, the group will meet on Calle Relox and head to the Sanctuary of Atonilco. It will take approximately 20 minutes to reach this stunning World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival, you will explore the beauty of the temple and learn about its history. The tour will take you back to the 18th century, revealing its origins and connections to the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and Mexican Independence.

You will also view the interior of the sanctuary, which features frescos in the popular Mexican baroque style. This temple is known as the American Sistine Chapel.

After the guided tour, lasting about 45 minutes, there will be free time in the center of the village of Atotonilco for those who wish to try local gastronomy.

With renewed energy, the group will return to the starting point, arriving 2 hours after the tour began.
