Guanajuato Day Trip

On the day of the tour, we'll meet on Calle Relox and depart San Miguel de Allende towards Guanajuato, located about 70 kilometers to the north. After approximately one hour on a comfortable bus, we will reach this World Heritage City, significant as the cradle of Mexican Independence.

We'll begin a complete guided tour of Guanajuato, an old mining town, entering the famous Callejón del Beso (alleyway of the kiss), where we will learn stories and legends related to this notable street.

Continuing, we will admire key monuments, including the University, the Juarez Theatre, and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato, located in the Plaza de la Paz, known for its yellow facade and baroque dome.

We'll also visit the Diego Rivera House Museum, the former home and studio of the muralist, featuring some of his studio paintings.

After touring the museum, we will explore the network of tunnels beneath Guanajuato, learning about the mining history that sustained the local populace.

Post-tour, we will allow one hour of free time for lunch at a local restaurant.

We will return to San Miguel de Allende after a total of eight hours.
