2016 marked the Bicentennial celebrations of Argentina's Independence, declared in Tucumán. Explore this significant historical event on our Independence Tour of San Miguel de Tucumán.
Argentina Independence Tour
The tour begins at 8:30 AM with hotel pickup in Tucumán. Our first stop is the Miguel Lillo Natural Science Museum (entrance fee not included), where you will learn about the province's nature, geography, and local dinosaur fossils. Next, we will visit the Casa Belgraniana, the residence of General Manuel Belgrano, where you will learn about the battle of Tucumán, a key event in the War of Independence.
After Casa Belgraniana, we will proceed to Ingenio San Pablo to explore its sugar production history, then visit Villa Nougués and San Javier Hill, which offers panoramic views and the Cristo Bendicente sculpture.
The tour includes a stop in the Yerba Buena residential area, where you can taste local empanadas with a glass of wine. On our return, we will tour 9 July Park and the Casa Obispo Colombres Sugar Industry Museum.
The tour concludes at Plaza de la Independencia, where we will walk around to admire the Government House, Cathedral, and Casa Histórica, site of the Independence proclamation on July 9, 1816.
The tour ends at 3:30 PM, returning to your hotel.
