Your adventure begins with a departure from your lodging in Tucumán, leading to the outskirts of the city. A brief 30-minute journey will bring us to the impressive ruins of San José de Lules, where we will delve into the significant contributions of the Society of Jesus.
While exploring this historic site, recognized as a National Monument, we'll uncover the story behind Argentina's first Jesuit school and visit the spot where sugar cane was initially grown in this part of South America.
After our insightful tour of the Jesuit ruins, we will proceed to Simoca. Here, we will immerse ourselves in its well-known Saturday fair, sampling various regional delicacies such as rosquillas and empanadillas. The Simoca Fair also showcases a diverse selection of handicrafts.
As we browse the stalls, we will witness the barter system in action, observing how goods like a dozen eggs or even a small piglet serve as currency for trade.
Ultimately, we will return to your hotel in Tucumán, concluding our journey approximately 5 hours after the initial pickup.
