On this excursion from Tucumán, we'll visit the Jesuit ruins of San José de Lules and the town of Simoca, known for its Saturday fair, featuring regional products.
Tour Highlights
At the designated time, we will depart from your hotel in Tucumán. After a 30-minute drive, we will arrive at the ruins of San José de Lules, where we will learn about the Society of Jesus.
During the visit to this ancient complex, designated a National Monument, we will explore the history of the first Jesuit school in Argentina and see where sugar cane was first cultivated in this region.
Following the visit to the Jesuit ruins, we will proceed to Simoca. Here we will experience the Saturday fair, where various rosquillas, empanadillas, and other local products are available. The fair also showcases a wide array of handicrafts.
Throughout the stalls, we will observe the barter system in action, where items such as eggs or piglets are used for trading products.
After the Simoca Fair, we will return to your hotel in Tucumán, arriving about 5 hours after pickup.
