Activity Overview
Your journey begins with a timely pickup from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. As we head to Cerro Toco Volcano, the trip will take about an hour, during which we will pause at a local shop for you to purchase water and snacks.
Prior to starting the hike, we'll first acclimatize with a brief 1 km (0.6 mi) trek at an altitude of 3,100 m (10,170 ft). From there, we'll proceed to the base of Cerro Toco Volcano, sitting at an impressive 5,100 m (16,732 ft) above sea level. Are you ready for the climb?
The ascent will take approximately 2 hours, allowing for several breaks to catch your breath, hydrate, and absorb awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Andean scenery. Ensure you have your camera ready to capture these moments!
After returning to the volcano's base and resting for 45 minutes, we will commence our journey back to San Pedro de Atacama. We will wrap up our expedition with farewells at the hotel after a fulfilling 5-hour adventure.
