Cerro Toco Volcano Hike

Join us on this hiking tour of Cerro Toco, a dormant volcano offering stunning views from its summit at 5,100 m (16,732 ft). You will see the Licancabur Volcano and the Blanco and Verde Lagoons.

Activity Details

At the specified time, we will pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. The journey to Cerro Toco Volcano takes approximately one hour, with a stop at a shop for water and snacks.

Prior to the hike, we will stop for a 1 km (0.6 mi) acclimatization walk at an altitude of 3,100 m (10,170 ft). Afterward, we will proceed to the base of the volcano, which is at 5,100 m (16,732 ft) above sea level.

We will hike to the summit over the course of 2 hours, with stops for rest, hydration, and to enjoy panoramic views of the Andean landscape. Please bring your camera.

After reaching the base of the volcano and resting for 45 minutes, we will begin our return journey to San Pedro de Atacama. We will conclude the tour back at your hotel after a total of 5 hours.
