Salt Mountains Day Trip

At the agreed time, we'll meet at unit 2, 429B Tocopilla Street in San Pedro de Atacama. From there, we'll travel to one of the most spectacular places in Moon Valley: The Salt Mountains (“Cordillera de la Sal” in Spanish).

When we arrive, we'll admire the geological wonder of the Salt Mountains and observe how wind erosion has created a unique landscape of sand dunes and thousand-year-old salt rivers.

During our exploration, we'll see the remains of an ancient means of transport, known as the Magic Bus, and discuss its significance and why it is stranded in this desert.

To conclude our experience, we'll watch a sunset over the Salt Mountains, as the hues of the sunset illuminate the vastness of the desert. You will also enjoy a snack of dried fruits, biscuits, juices, a bag of crisps, and a drink, with options of beer or pisco sour.

After the sunset, we'll return to San Pedro de Atacama, where we'll leave you at the small square in the center of town or another central location after 4 hours of activity.
