Discover the beautiful landscapes of the Salt Mountains in the surreal Chilean Moon Valley. We'll explore this extraordinary place on our unforgettable day trip from San Pedro de Atacama.

Salt Mountains Day Trip

At the agreed time, we'll meet at unit 2, 429B Tocopilla Street in San Pedro de Atacama. From there, we'll travel to one of the most spectacular places in Moon Valley: The Salt Mountains (“Cordillera de la Sal” in Spanish).

Upon arrival, we'll explore the geological features of the Salt Mountains, observing how wind erosion has sculpted the unique landscape consisting of sand dunes and ancient salt rivers.

During our exploration, we will view the remains of a transport vehicle known as the Magic Bus, discussing its significance and history in one of the driest deserts in the world.

The experience will conclude with a sunset viewing over the Salt Mountains, where you can enjoy the changing colors illuminating the desert. A snack will be provided, including dried fruits, biscuits, juices, a bag of crisps, and a drink of your choice between beer and pisco sour.

After the sunset, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama, completing approximately 4 hours of activity, and drop you off at the small square in the center of town or at another central location.
