Salt Mountains Day Trip

At the agreed time, we'll meet at unit 2, 429B Tocopilla Street in San Pedro de Atacama. From there, we'll travel to the spectacular Moon Valley: The Salt Mountains ("Cordillera de la Sal" in Spanish).

Upon arrival, we'll admire the geological wonder of the Salt Mountains. You'll observe how wind erosion has created a unique landscape of sand dunes and ancient salt rivers.

As we explore, we'll also see the remains of an ancient means of transport, known as the Magic Bus. We'll discuss its significance and how it ended up in one of the driest deserts in the world.

To conclude our experience, we'll watch a sunset over the Salt Mountains, where the hues of sunset illuminate the desert. You'll receive a snack of dried fruits, biscuits, juices, and a drink of your choice between beer and pisco sour.

After enjoying the sunset, we'll return to San Pedro de Atacama. We will drop you off at the small square in the center of town or at another central point after 4 hours of activity.
