Tatio Geysers & Machuca Lagoon Trip

At the designated time, you will be picked up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama to begin the journey to the most significant geothermal activity site in Chile. After approximately an hour and a half of travel, you will arrive at the El Tatio geyser field, located at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters (13,000 ft) above sea level.

El Tatio is one of the most frequented sites in the Atacama desert. Witness the continuous steam eruptions from over 100 small craters in the ground. The site ranks as the third-largest geyser field in the world. You will also visit thermal pools and enjoy a delightful breakfast while watching this stunning geothermal spectacle at dawn.

After breakfast, you will depart from the captivating landscapes of El Tatio towards the Machuca Lagoon, where you will explore a wetland home to diverse highland birds, such as flamingos and ducks.

The tour will conclude with your return to San Pedro de Atacama after approximately 7 to 7.5 hours. You will be dropped off in the town center.

Hotel Pickup

This activity provides pickup from hotels located within a 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) radius of the San Pedro de Atacama center. Depending on availability, pickups may also be arranged from locations closer (up to 2 kilometers or 1.2 miles) or further away (up to 5 kilometers or 3.1 miles). It is advisable to select accommodations in the historic center of San Pedro. Please note that pickups from nearby towns such as Ayllus, Solor, Cucuter, and Toconao are not included.
