Tatio Geysers & Machuca Lagoon Trip
We will pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama at the scheduled time and proceed to the most significant geothermal site in Chile. After approximately one and a half hours of travel, we arrive at El Tatio geyser field, located over 4,000 meters (13,000 ft) above sea level.
El Tatio is among the most frequented locations in the Atacama desert. Here, you will observe steam eruptions from more than 100 craters. This site is the third-largest geyser field globally. We will also explore thermal pools and enjoy breakfast while witnessing the geothermal activity at dawn.
Afterwards, we will visit the Machuca Lagoon, a wetland home to various highland birds such as flamingos and ducks. Finally, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama, concluding this 7 to 7.5-hour excursion with a drop-off in the town center.
Hotel Pickup
This activity includes pickup from hotels within a radius of up to 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) from central San Pedro de Atacama. We may accommodate pickups from hotels closer (maximum radius of 2 kilometers or 1.2 miles) or further away (maximum radius of 5 kilometers or 3.1 miles). It is recommended to indicate accommodations in the historic center. Note that pickups in nearby towns such as Ayllus, Solor, Cucuter, and Toconao are not included.
If you are staying at more remote locations, you will need to go to an alternative meeting point specified on your booking voucher.
