Itata Valley Vineyards & Wineries Tour

At 9 am, we'll depart from your hotel in Concepción towards the Itata Valley, one of the main wine-growing areas of central Chile.

We'll first visit a traditional winery in Portezuelo, where we'll tour its vineyards and learn about the origins of this cultivation, imported to Chile by the Jesuits over 200 years ago.

In these vineyards, we'll see 3 different grape varieties: País, Cinsault, and Moscatel. Each one produces a distinct grape, which we'll learn to distinguish in a wine tasting at the winery. You'll also have the opportunity to taste chupilca, a local drink made from red wine and toasted flour.

The next stop will be in Chillán, where we'll visit its traditional market featuring local handicrafts. You'll have an hour free for lunch in the town, and then we'll visit a vineyard in Bulnes.

Here we'll learn about the vines and taste the wines produced in their cellar. After this tasting, we'll return to your hotel in Concepción, arriving at 10 pm.
