San José Manialtepec Horse Riding

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Escondido and set off for the community of San José Manialtepec by minibus. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

The saddled horses will be ready upon arrival, allowing us to start our adventure through the extraordinary spots in San José Manialtepec.

On horseback, we'll venture into the jungle and cross up to four different points along the Maíz River. This offers a way to explore beautiful rural landscapes and discover unique flora such as the ceiba, a tree regarded as sacred by various pre-Hispanic cultures.

After the jungle, we reach one of the coastal Manialtepec lagoon's banks, where we will get into canoes and paddle across the lagoon. Look back to see the horses swimming behind us as we cross.

Upon canoeing to the other side, we arrive at Puerto Suelo Beach, where locals will greet us and offer a bonfire with delicious chocolates for a refreshing break.

We will then remount our horses for the return trip to our starting point, arriving at your hotel in Puerto Escondido approximately 7 hours after initial pickup.
