Santa Catarina Juquila Private Day Trip

At 7 am, pick up will be from your hotel in Puerto Escondido for a drive to Santa Catarina Juquila, approximately a 2-hour journey to this important pilgrimage site.

Upon arrival, we will visit the Immaculate Shrine of Our Lady of Juquila, built between the 18th and 19th centuries. The site features two flanking towers and a large half-orange dome, housing Our Lady of Juquila, the second patron saint of Oaxaca. The tour will include insights into the miracle that elevated her status.

After the shrine, we will explore the municipal market, filled with handicrafts, traditional products, and images of the Virgen Mary. You will have 45 minutes of free time for lunch at the market or a local restaurant.

Following lunch, we will visit Our Lady of Juquila Pedimiento, where you can observe the congregation and their traditions, including the clay figures representing their wishes.

Return to your hotel in Puerto Escondido will be at 5:30 pm.
