Santa Catarina Juquila Private Day Trip

At 7 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Escondido and drive to Santa Catarina Juquila. The drive to this Pueblo Magico, a significant pilgrimage site, takes about 2 hours.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the Immaculate Shrine of Our Lady of Juquila, built between the 18th and 19th centuries, known for its two flanking towers and large half-orange dome. Inside, you will see Our Lady of Juquila, whom the state of Oaxaca honors as its second patron saint. You will learn about the miracle that established her as one of Mexico’s most revered figures.

Next, we will go to the municipal market, showcasing handicrafts, traditional products, and images of the Virgen Mary. You will have 45 minutes of free time for lunch at the market or in a local restaurant.

Following lunch, we will visit Our Lady of Juquila Pedimiento, where you can observe the congregation engaging in deep-rooted traditions, including wish-making represented through clay figures.

We will return to your hotel in Puerto Escondido at 5:30 pm.
