Discover the history of a town shrouded by mysticism and beliefs with our Santa Catarina Juquila Private Day Trip from Puerto Escondido, where you will visit one of Mexico's Magic Towns and some of Oaxaca's most iconic places.

Santa Catarina Juquila Private Day Trip

At 7 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Escondido and drive to Santa Catarina Juquila. The drive to this Pueblo Magico, one of Oaxaca's important pilgrimage sites, takes about 2 hours.

Upon arrival, we will visit the Immaculate Shrine of Our Lady of Juquila, built between the 18th and 19th centuries, featuring two towers and a large half-orange dome. Inside, you will find Our Lady of Juquila, the second patron saint of Oaxaca. During this visit, you will learn about the miracle that made her a venerated figure in Mexico.

After the shrine, we will proceed to the municipal market, where you will see handicrafts, traditional products, and images of the Virgen Mary. You will have 45 minutes of free time for lunch at the market or a local restaurant.

Following lunch, we will head to Our Lady of Juquila Pedimiento, where you can observe congregation members engaging in traditions, including the making of wishes represented in clay figures.

We will return to your hotel in Puerto Escondido at 5:30 pm.
