Explore the Andean landscapes with this excursion to the Las Leñas Valley, home to one of the largest ski resorts in South America.
Description
Pickup from your hotel in San Rafael will occur at 8:15 am. The journey heads south through Mendoza, passing the Salinas del Diamante and Los Parlamentos plains. We will visit the El Sosneado neighborhood to discuss the FAU 571 plane crash, where 16 survivors resorted to cannibalism for 72 days after the plane crashed on a glacier.
The route will continue along the Atuel River before arriving at the Las Leñas Valley. You'll enjoy views from the Infiernillo viewpoint and visit the Niña Encantada Lagoon, known for its turquoise waters, and the Las Ánimas well.
At an altitude of 2,000 meters (6,561 feet), the Las Leñas Ski Resort features 29 slopes with 65 kilometers (40 miles) of skiable runs, along with various hotels and restaurants.
You will return to your hotel in San Rafael, arriving around 7:30 pm.
