La Merced Excursion

After picking you up at your hotel in San Ramón at 10:30 am, we'll travel to La Merced, set in the central Peruvian jungle. We will ascend to an altitude of 750 meters (2,460 feet) above sea level to reach this town along the Chanchamayo River, surrounded by lush vegetation, waterfalls, and wildlife.

Upon arriving in La Merced, we will tour the Plaza Principal, the main square, where we will see the Matriz Church and its two-colored façade. Next, we will visit the stunning waterfall of El Tirol, capturing photos in this natural oasis, followed by a visit to the Las Delicias orchid garden, where we will learn about various types of orchids.

We will then explore the fauna of La Merced at the Zhaveta Yard butterfly farm and zoo, where we will observe native species including parrots, sloths, and monkeys. To conclude the tour, we will visit the viewpoint of La Cruz to admire the city vistas before returning to San Ramón, where you will be dropped off at your hotel around 3:30 pm.
