Join this 2-day tour of Oxampampa and Pozuzo to explore Peru's notable 19th-century Austro-German colonies.

Day 1: Oxapampa

Pick-up will be at 8 am from your hotel in San Ramón. The journey to Oxampampa begins with a stop at the Mezapata viewpoint to see the Paucartambo canyon. We will then proceed to Chontabamba to visit its wooden church, constructed by settlers, followed by a visit to a dairy factory for a tasting session.

In the afternoon, we will explore Oxapampa, including key sites such as the Plaza de Armas, the Colonists' promenade, and the church of Santa Rosa. Overnight accommodations will be provided in Oxapampa.

Day 2: Pozuzo

After breakfast, we will drive through Yanachanga Chemillen National Park, witnessing the waterfalls of Rayantambo and Yulitunqui from the vehicle. Upon arrival in Pozuzo, we will tour its European-style wooden churches and other significant sites like the bridge of Emperor Wilhelm I and the Schafferer Museum.

We will also visit the monument to Father Joseph Egg before concluding the tour with panoramic views of the Oxapampa landscape. Return to San Ramón is scheduled for the evening.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night in a double room at the Hotel Posada Edelweiss (3 stars) or similar.
