The Pampa Train in Sant'Ana do Livramento
The Pampa Train, a new tourist attraction in Sant'Ana do Livramento, features two wagons named Cabernet and Tannat, honoring local grape varieties. It travels 12 miles (20 kilometers) through the Campanha Caúcha countryside, accommodating up to 100 passengers with comfortable seating and scenic views.
Activity Itinerary
You can choose to start with the Pampa Train ride or the Almadén Winery tour. The meeting point is the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station. The itinerary is as follows:
Starting with the Pampa Train ride: Depart from the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station to the Palomas Train Station, then take a bus to the Almadén Winery. Return to the meeting point by bus.Starting with the Almadén Winery tour: Depart from the Sant'Ana do Livramento Train Station to the Almadén Winery by minibus or bus. After the visit, head to the Palomas Train Station and board the Pampa Train back to the meeting point.
Train Ride
Onboard the Pampa Train, enjoy beautiful views during the 12-mile (20-kilometer) journey, complemented by traditional musical performances by gauchos playing the guitar. Experience tastings of red wine, white wine, and must from your seat with tables designed for wine glasses.
Tour of the Almadén Winery
The Almadén Winery, located in the Campanha Gaúcha near the Uruguay border, offers vineyard strolls, scenic views from a balcony, and an interactive museum detailing the winery’s history. The tour covers the wine-making process and includes a tasting. The winery features a canteen and shop for wine and souvenirs.
