Tour Details
We'll meet at the parking lot of the "Ferruccio Barreca" Archeological Museum at the designated time to start this tour of Sant'Antioco and Calasetta.
Our tour will begin with Sant'Antioco, where we'll see the archeological site of the museum from the outside, including the Roman Acropolis, an ancient temple, and a hypogeum that houses ancient Punic tombs.
Next, we'll head to the city center to view the exterior of the Forte Sabaudo Su Pisu, a 19th-century fortress, and the Church of Saint Antiochus Martyr, which has Paleochristian origins. The only Christian catacombs in Sardinia are located here, and we will provide details as you admire the church's facade.
Afterward, we'll pause at the promenade for a meal at one of the local restaurants. Following lunch, we will board a vehicle to proceed to Calasetta.
Upon arrival, we'll visit the Torre Sabauda for coastal views. We'll then head to City Hall Square, where you will encounter the Church of Saint Maurice Martyr and other Genovese-style buildings.
Before concluding the tour, we'll drive to the ancient Tonnara di Sant'Antioco to admire the Mangiabarche Lighthouse. The views will be noteworthy.
Finally, we will return to Sant'Antioco, concluding the tour after 7 hours.
