Tour Details
We'll meet at the parking lot of the "Ferruccio Barreca" Archeological Museum at the designated time to start the tour.
The tour begins with Sant'Antioco, where we'll observe the museum's archeological site, including the Roman Acropolis, the remains of an ancient temple, and a hypogeum with ancient Punic tombs.
Next, we'll head to the city center to see the exterior of the Forte Sabaudo Su Pisu, a 19th-century fortress, and the Church of Saint Antiochus Martyr, known for its Paleochristian origins. Here are also the only Christian catacombs in Sardinia.
Following this, we will stop at the promenade for lunch at a nearby restaurant. Afterward, we'll travel by vehicle to Calasetta.
Upon arrival, we will see the Torre Sabauda for coastal views, after which we will visit the City Hall Square, featuring the Church of Saint Maurice Martyr and other Genovese-style buildings.
Before concluding our tour, we'll drive to the ancient Tonnara di Sant'Antioco and view the Mangiabarche Lighthouse, built on a rock. We will return to Sant'Antioco and conclude the tour 7 hours later.
