Go on a journey through more than a thousand years of history with this medieval tour of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery. You'll learn about this monastic complex through an audio guide in English and a series of screenings.
Description
We'll meet you in the reception of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery to give you your audio guide to start your tour. Your route covers over a thousand years of history, beginning with the origins of the monastery dedicated to Saint Benedict.
Constructed around 950, the monastery was abandoned by monks and remained in ruins until its restoration in the 20th century, driven by painter Ramon Casas and architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.
With your audio guide, you'll tour the monks' cells, the cellar, and the impressive cloister featuring original capitals. You'll also visit the church of the Benedictine monastery, learning about medieval monastic life through audiovisual screenings.
After approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, your visit will conclude.
