Go on a journey through more than a thousand years of history with this medieval tour of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery. You'll learn about this monastic complex through an audio guide in English and a series of screenings.
Description
We'll meet you in the reception of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery to provide your audio guide. Your route will cover over a thousand years of history, starting from the origins of this monastery dedicated to Saint Benedict.
Built around 950, the monastery was abandoned by the monks and fell into ruin until its restoration in the 20th century, led by painter Ramon Casas and architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.
With your audio guide, you'll tour the monks' cells, the cellar, and the impressive cloister, featuring columns with original capitals.
You will also visit the church of this Benedictine monastery to learn about life in a medieval monastery. The audiovisual screenings will explain how the monastery functioned.
Your visit will last approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
