Go on a journey through more than a thousand years of history with this medieval tour of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery. You'll learn about this monastic complex through an audio guide in English and a series of screenings.
Description
We will meet you in the reception of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery to provide your audio guide. Your tour will explore the origins of this monastery dedicated to Saint Benedict, built around 950. The monastery was abandoned by the monks and fell into ruin until its 20th-century restoration by painter Ramon Casas and architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.
Accompanied by the audio guide, you will tour the monks' cells, the cellar, and the impressive cloister with its original capitals. You will also visit the church of the monastery to learn about medieval monastic life through audiovisual screenings.
