Los Tilos Forest & Charco Azul Day Trip + Rum Distillery Tour
Between 8 and 9:20 am, we'll pick you up from your chosen meeting point to start touring north-eastern La Palma.
We will visit Enamorado Waterfall, which offers views of the palm-covered mountains. We will also explore the nearby Church of San Bartolo for a coffee break.
Next, we'll travel through San Andrés and take a short 30-minute walk through banana plantations to reach Puerto Espindola and then the Charco Azul's natural pools.
Our adventure continues at the Aldea rum distillery, where we will learn about sugar cane production. We will then visit the viewpoints of La Tosca and Fajana de Barlovento for photos.
You will have 1 hour of free time to get lunch in Los Sauces before we head into the Los Tilos Forest Nature Reserve.
We will visit the reserve's visitor centre to learn about the laurel forest's origins and its conservation. We will explore its leafy paths, representing an ecosystem from the Tertiary period.
The day trip concludes between 3:30 and 4:30 pm back at the starting point.
Pickup
This tour includes pickup from Fuencaliente, Puerto Naos, Santa Cruz de La Palma, Los Llanos de Aridane, and Los Cancajos.
Partial Closures
Due to a landslide, access to the Los Tilos Forest is currently closed, so we will walk through the asphalted area of Cubo de la Galga instead, appreciating its laurel forest.
