Tajogaite Volcano Day Trip

Are you interested in discovering the most recent volcanic activity in La Palma? Join us on this day trip to Tajogaite volcano, where we'll explore various viewpoints through an exciting hike around Cumbre Vieja to observe this volcanic formation, which emerged in 2021.

Details of the Day Trip

At the scheduled time, you will be collected from your chosen meeting point and transported to Cumbre Vieja Natural Park. Our journey will start in Llano del Jable, where we embark on a hiking trail designed to explore the Tajogaite Volcano, the most recent addition to La Palma's volcanic landscape.

The September 2021 Tajogaite eruption posed significant risks to the island, capturing widespread attention for its 85 days of volcanic activity. As we traverse through these geological wonders, we'll reflect on the events and their effects on the nearby regions.

The hiking route spans a distance of 5 kilometers (3 miles) round trip, taking approximately 3 hours. This trek will lead us to prime viewpoints where we can admire the crater of Tajogaite up close. Prepare for some memorable photo opportunities!

Subsequently, a bus will take you to the port of Tazacorte. During this segment, we will observe the newly established roads that now connect communities previously cut off by lava. An hour of free time will be provided to enjoy lunch at a local eatery and to see the area where the magma met the ocean during the eruption.

Before concluding our trip, we will stop at Tajuya Square and the Tacande viewpoint, offering breathtaking vistas of the new volcanic structure.

After a full day of exploration, you will be returned to your initial pick-up point.
