Tajogaite Volcano Day Trip

Want to learn more about the last eruption in La Palma? On this Tajogaite volcano day trip, we'll visit various viewpoints on an incredible hike around Cumbre Vieja to see this volcanic cone, created in 2021, up close.

Itinerary

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your selected meeting point and head to Cumbre Vieja Natural Park. We'll start a hiking route from Llano del Jable to explore the Tajogaite Volcano.

The Tajogaite eruption in September 2021 lasted 85 days, impacting the island significantly. As we hike, we'll discuss the eruption and its effects on the area.

The 5-kilometre (3 miles) round trip lasting 3 hours will take us to the best viewpoints of Tajogaite's crater. This offers excellent photo opportunities.

Afterward, we will travel by bus to the port of Tazacorte, observing newly built roads connecting areas affected by lava. You will have an hour for lunch at a local restaurant and to see where the magma reached the sea.

Before concluding the tour, we'll visit Tajuya Square and the Tacande viewpoint, providing further views of the volcano. We will conclude the day after 8 hours of activity and drop you off at the starting point.
