On this day trip, we'll discover Quilombo dos Palmares, an area significant for its Afro-Brazilian cultural heritage, and the historic mountain Serra Da Barriga.

Day Trip Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Maceió at the designated time to start our trip to explore Quilombo dos Palmares, one of Brazil's largest and most emblematic quilombos.

Founded in the 17th century, this area served as a refuge for enslaved people who escaped, symbolizing resistance for freedom. You will learn about this historical moment.

Our journey will begin with a road trip, followed by a guided tour of the Sierra da Barriga, a culturally significant mountain. We will uncover the history of the community, its leaders, and their resistance against enslavement.

After the visit, we will have lunch at Baobá restaurant, recognized for its Afro-Indigenous cuisine, featuring unique ingredients and celebrating local dishes such as moqueca.

Post-lunch, we will return to Maceió, which will take about 2 hours. Our day trip concludes at your hotel after a total of 12 hours.
