Experience a Mexican Winter Solstice Ceremony
December 20
At 4 pm we'll pick you up at your hotel in Huatulco for a trip to La Ventanilla beach. Upon arrival, we will learn about the significance of the solstice which marks the change of seasons in the northern hemisphere and the beginning of a new cycle in this town on the Oaxacan coast.
The shaman will guide us through a ritual that emphasizes the cultural impact of this ceremony. On the beach, we will release a turtle into the sea accompanied by drums, bidding farewell to the sun and welcoming the longest night of the year. After 6 hours, we'll return to your hotel in Huatulco.
