Oaxaca 2 Day Tour

Day 1: Huatulco - Oaxaca

We'll pick you up at 6 am at your hotel in Huatulco and head to Jalapa del Marqués for breakfast. We'll then take the Mezcal Route, visiting Santiago Matatlán and San Jerónimo Tlacochahuaya. During a 2 hour tour, we'll learn about mezcal production.

Next, we will visit the archaeological site of Mitla, known for its old houses and Mixtec ritual spaces. We will also see traditional rugs from Teotitlán del Valle and the Santa María del Tule millenary tree, over 2000 years old.

At 3:30 pm, we'll arrive in Oaxaca City to visit the baroque building of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and its annexed museum. You will have the rest of the day free after we drop you off at your hotel.

Day 2: Oaxaca - Huatulco

At 8 am, we will leave the hotel for the Monte Albán archaeological zone to explore the ancient capital of the Zapotec people. We will then return to Oaxaca to visit the Benito Juárez handicraft market.

We will continue to San Bartolo Coyotepec for black clay figures, followed by a visit to San Antonio Arrazola or San Martin Tilcajete to learn about alebrijes.

At 4 pm, we will have a lunch break in San José del Pacífico. After lunch, we will head back to Huatulco, scheduled for arrival at 8 pm.

This tour includes 1 night's accommodation in a double room in one of the following 3 or 4 star hotels: Hotel Gala, Oaxaca Real, Hostal La Noria or similar.
