Discover the Jesuit legacy of the Argentinian province of Córdoba on this day trip to the towns of Jesús María and Colonia Caroya.
Description
After picking you up from your hotel in Córdoba at the scheduled time, we'll set off for Colonia Caroya. This town was historically inhabited by descendants of Italian immigrants and is known for its handmade sausages. Upon arrival, we'll visit the Jesuit Estancia Casa de Caroya, a complex that served as a summer residence for students of the Monserrat school, where we will discuss the history of this educational institution.
Next, we will continue to Jesús María, known for hosting the annual Dressage and Folklore Festival. Here, we will explore the religious legacy of the 17th century by visiting the Jesuit Estancia of San Isidro Labrador, one of the prominent sites in the area. During the tour, we will share interesting facts about the estancia, including its role in regional wine production. The Jesuit influence persists throughout Córdoba, with their monuments, designated as a World Heritage Site, serving as evidence of their legacy.
At the end of the trip, we will return to your hotel in Córdoba.
