Description
At the indicated time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Santa Maria and begin our guided tour in the city center.
As we explore Santa Maria, we'll view the neo-baroque and neoclassical style of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Conception, the Basilica Shrine of Our Lady Mediatrix of All Graces, and the colourful houses of Villa Belga. We will also discuss the Federal University of Santa Maria, one of the largest universities in Brazil.
After Santa Maria, we will travel by minibus to the village of Silveira Martins, where we will stop at a restaurant for an Italian lunch including chicken, polenta, and pasta.

We will discuss the significant wave of European immigration, particularly in Rio Grande do Sul, at the end of the 19th century.
