Trip Details
At the scheduled hour, we will collect you from your accommodation in Santa Marta. Our journey will take approximately 40 minutes to reach Ciénaga, during which we'll enjoy a fruit snack to replenish our energy for the day ahead.
Upon our arrival in Ciénaga, a town that served as a backdrop for Gabriel García Márquez's renowned One Hundred Years of Solitude, we will delve into its rich history. A leisurely walk through its historic lanes will unveil the town’s origins and its significant prosperity in the early 20th century, driven by the thriving banana industry.
As part of our excursion, we will visit the notable pavilion, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, along with several other historical sites that resonate with themes from García Márquez's illustrious literary work.
Next, we will journey to the Cordobita region, where the remarkable volcano of Ciénaga awaits. Here, you can immerse yourself in the rejuvenating hot springs, experience their healing effects, and indulge in a therapeutic mud massage.
Finally, we will board our minibus for the return trip to Santa Marta, where we will conclude our adventure approximately 7 hours later.
