Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Santa Marta and drive for 40 minutes to Ciénaga, enjoying a fruit snack during the journey.
Upon arrival in Ciénaga, the inspiration for García Márquez's novel One Hundred Years of Solitude, we will explore its history by strolling through its streets and discussing its early 20th-century economic boom driven by the banana industry.
During our visit, we will tour the pavilion, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, and other monuments, providing a connection to García Márquez's literary work.
Next, we will proceed to the Cordobita region to see the volcano of Ciénaga. Here, you will have the chance to enjoy the hot springs, learn about their healing properties, and experience a therapeutic mud massage.
Afterwards, we will return to the minibus and travel back to Santa Marta, arriving approximately 7 hours later.
