At 6:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Santa Marta and head to the western part of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta by minibus. This area surrounds the municipality of Ciénaga.
Our trip will begin at the mouth of the Sevilla River, where we will pause to observe exotic birds such as cormorants. The Magdalena region, particularly near Ciénaga, is home to many cormorants, so be prepared with your cameras.
We may also spot the endangered Northern screamers, which play a crucial role in the ecosystem of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta. Additionally, we will examine the mangroves around the lagoon, significant to this region.
At midday, we'll enjoy a traditional lunch featuring fresh local fish. Afterward, we will return to your hotel in Santa Marta, aiming to arrive by 2:30 pm.
