Discover what it's like to live with an Indigenous group from the Colombian Caribbean on our Kogi Indigenous Community Trip. You'll leave Santa Marta behind and learn about the Kogi's customs and traditions on this unique experience.
Description
At 7 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel to start our adventure in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta's rainforest.
After 2 hours, we'll arrive at the village of Quebrada del Sol, where we will have a snack and be welcomed by a guide who'll discuss the village's history.
We will then hike to the Kogi Mulkwakungui village for approximately 1 hour, where we will learn about Kogi tradition and meet the Mamo, the village authority.
Lunchtime at 12:30 pm will include soup, a main course, juice, and fruit. After lunch, you'll have 1 hour of free time at the Don Diego River for a refreshing swim.
At 3 pm, we'll return to Santa Marta and conclude the tour.
2-Day Trip
For a more in-depth experience, choose our 2-day trip. The first day includes the same schedule as above, along with a chocolate-making workshop and a traditional lunch in Quebrada del Sol. You'll also see Kogi handicrafts, enjoy pools, and have a dinner.
On the second day, we'll have a snack, walk to the Don Diego River, cross the river in a small raft, and visit the Arhuaco Kandumake people at noon for lunch. We'll return to Santa Marta around 5 pm.
Accommodation
The 2-day trip includes 1 night's accommodation at a cabin in the village.
