Lost City 4 Day Trekking Tour

The Lost City or Ciudad Perdida is an important archaeological site in Colombia. On this tour, we will explore the heritage of the Tayrona Indians via various hiking routes.

Lost City 4-Day Trekking Tour

Day 1

We depart from Santa Marta to Mamey for a light lunch before starting our first hiking route. This three-hour hike covers 8 kilometres (5.5 miles) in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, leading us to cabaña de Adán for a dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Post-breakfast, we embark on our second hiking route of 14 kilometres (8.6 miles) for eight hours. We will visit the indigenous village of Muntanyi and have a traditional lunch before continuing. We will conclude the day at cabaña de Romualdo for dinner and rest.

Day 3

After breakfast, we walk for approximately three hours over 8 kilometres (5.5 miles) to reach the archaeological site of Lost City, learning about the Tayrona people. After lunch, we will hike through the Buritaca River area and stay overnight at cabaña de Gabriel.

Day 4

Following breakfast, we will hike for six hours, covering 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) to Mamey. We will have lunch and then travel back to Santa Marta to conclude the tour.

5-day tour

Extend your trip with an additional day. On the fourth day, we return to Adam's or Alfredo's hut at 12 pm for leisure time at Quebrada de Honduras. Enjoy dinner at 6 pm and spend the night before a 3-hour hike on the fifth day to the Mamey region.

Meeting Point & Pickup Areas

Arrive 20 minutes early at Carrera 1C no. 18-67 centro, next to the Park Hotel. Pick-ups are also available in downtown Santa Marta, Rodadero, Taganga, and Minca.

Meals

The tour includes lunches and dinners throughout the tour, prepared by the staff. Breakfast items must be brought by participants, though light options are recommended. Water, fruit, and snacks will be provided during hikes.

Accommodation

Accommodation includes three nights in campsites with hammocks and mats in the Archaeological Park.

Important information

Good physical condition is required for an average of five hours of walking daily.Not suitable for individuals with heart or respiratory conditions.Yellow fever vaccination is required before the tour.
