The Lost City or Ciudad Perdida is a key archaeological site in Colombia, showcasing the legacy of the Tayrona Indians through various hiking routes.

Lost City 4-Day Trekking Tour

Day 1

Depart Santa Marta for Mamey, enjoying a light lunch before the first hiking route. This 8 km (5.5 miles) hike takes approximately three hours, concluding at cabaña de Adán, where dinner and rest follow.

Day 2

After breakfast, start the second hiking route, a 14 km (8.6 miles) trek lasting eight hours, visiting the indigenous village of Muntanyi. Traditional lunch follows, leading to an overnight stay at cabaña de Romualdo.

Day 3

Post-breakfast, a three-hour hike covering 8 km (5.5 miles) leads to the Lost City, where we learn about the Tayrona people's history. Lunch is provided before another scenic hike concluding at cabaña de Gabriel for dinner and rest.

Day 4

After breakfast, a six-hour hike averaging 15 km (9.3 miles) returns to Mamey. Lunch occurs in Mamey, followed by transport back to Santa Marta.

5-day tour

Extend your adventure with an additional day. On the fourth day, return to Adam's or Alfredo's hut at 12 pm for leisure at the Quebrada de Honduras and dinner at 6 pm. The fifth day includes breakfast followed by a 3-hour hike to Mamey and arrival for lunch at 1 pm, returning to Santa Marta at 5 pm.

Meeting Point & Pickup Areas

Arrive 20 minutes early at Cra 1C no. 18-67 centro, next to the Park Hotel. Pickup services are available in downtown Santa Marta, Rodadero, Taganga, and Minca.

Meals

The tour includes lunches and dinners daily, with light meals prepared by the staff. Breakfast is self-catered; light foods are recommended. Water, fruit, and snacks are provided during hikes.

Accommodation

The circuit involves three nights in campgrounds in the Archaeological Park, with cabins featuring hammocks and mats for sleeping.

Important information

Good physical condition is essential, averaging five hours of walking daily.Not recommended for individuals with heart or respiratory conditions.Vaccination for yellow fever is required prior to the tour.
