Lost City 4 Day Trekking Tour

The Lost City or Ciudad Perdida is an important archaeological site in Colombia. This tour explores the legacy of the Tayrona Indians through various hiking routes.

Lost City 4-Day Trekking Tour

Day 1

Departure from Santa Marta to Mamey for a light lunch. The first hiking route includes a three-hour trek of 8 kilometers (5.5 miles) in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, ending at cabaña de Adán with a dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, the second hiking route covers 14 kilometers (8.6 miles) over eight hours, visiting the indigenous village of Muntanyi for lunch and cultural exchange. The day concludes at cabaña de Romualdo for dinner and rest.

Day 3

After breakfast, a three-hour hike of 8 kilometers (5.5 miles) leads to the Lost City, where we explore archaeological remains of the Tayrona people from 800 to 1600. Post-lunch, we hike to cabaña de Gabriel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Post-breakfast, a six-hour hike averaging 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) brings us back to Mamey. After lunch, we drive to Santa Marta to conclude the tour.

5-day tour

Extend your tour with an additional day. On the fourth day, return to Adam's or Alfredo's hut at 12 pm for leisure at Quebrada de Honduras followed by a 6 pm dinner. The fifth day starts with breakfast at 7 am and a 3-hour hike to Mamey, arriving at 1 pm for lunch and return to Santa Marta at 5 pm.

Meeting Point & Pickup Areas

Check-in 20 minutes prior at Carrera 1C no. 18-67 centro, next to the Park Hotel. Pick-ups are available in downtown Santa Marta, Rodadero, Taganga, and Minca.

Meals

All lunches and dinners are included, consisting of light meals prepared locally. Breakfast consists of personal food; light meals are recommended for trekking. Water, fruit, and snacks are provided during treks. Notify us of any food intolerances or special diets upon booking.

Accommodation

The tour includes three nights in campsites within the Archaeological Park, featuring cabins with hammocks and mattresses for sleep.

Important information

Participants must be in good physical condition for an average of five hours of walking daily.Not recommended for individuals with heart or respiratory issues.Yellow fever vaccination is required prior to the tour.
