Santa Marta PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Course

Day 1: Theory and practice in confined waters

At the designated time, you'll meet your instructor at the entrance of the Divanga Hostel in Santa Marta. You'll then head to the facilities where you'll receive all necessary equipment and essential theory about diving techniques.

You'll learn how the different pieces of diving equipment operate, how to put them on, position yourself underwater, use air tanks, and clear the water mask. Additionally, you will learn underwater communication.

Next, you'll practice in the hotel swimming pools.

Start times: 8 am or 1:30 pm

Days 2 & 3: Dives in open water

On the second and third days, you'll complete a total of 4 open water dives in Tayrona Park. With your wetsuit on, you'll test your diving skills in the Caribbean waters.

As you dive into the clear water off the coast of Santa Marta, you'll observe the vibrant underwater life, including groupers, moray eels, gogo turtles, hawksbill turtles, and parrot fish.

At the end of the course, you'll take a final exam for your official certification, enabling you to dive to a depth of 60 feet (18 meters) anywhere in the world.
